Our Guide to Jewellery Gifting

Gifting jewelry to your wife or significant other is a wonderful gesture and fantastic choice for a gift. Fine jewelry retains value even through constant wear.

When it comes to choosing a beautiful jewelry piece you will want to choose something that will suit the recipients taste and desire. Choosing the right piece can be a daunting task so I will share a few tips that may be helpful to you.

KNOW YOUR BUDGET - You will want to think of a budget and an amount that you are willing to spend up to. Mentioning your budget will allow the jeweler or salesperson to better direct you to something that meets your request. It can be helpful to do some pricing research before you come into the jewelry store so that you get an idea of what to expect.

TO SURPRISE OR NOT TO SURPRISE – There is a real special feeling to receive a surprise gift and many times this would be the ideal and preferred option if possible. However, surprise gifting is a matter of personal preference and this may not always be the correct option for you or the recipient.

GET A CLUE - If the gift is a surprise you may want to pick up some hints to learn what the recipient would really want. By opening a conversation about jewelry, you can pick up some helpful information. Look back through your texts, maybe in the past she sent you some images of jewelry she loved that she found online or on social media. You can also try and get information through a friend or another family member that is close to her. If you are an existing customer, the jeweler or jewelry store would keep a record of what pieces she has looked at when she visited the store in the past and what she commented on.

GIVE A CHOICE – If you think that your spouse would want to see more than one piece to choose from, ask your jeweler if you can take home more than one choice. You may also consider talking to the jeweler about their Exchange policy so that if the gift you bring home is not right you can bring her back into the store and exchange for another piece of her choice.

PRESENTING THE GIFT – Most jewelry stores will package your jewelry in a special jewelry giftbox that is appropriate for gift presentation.  If for whatever reason the jewelry you buy does not come with gift presentation packaging, we suggest you look online for a nice jewelry giftbox. We cannot express enough the importance of adding a card with a personal message or note.

We wish you good luck on your next jewelry gift buying experience!
